Report by Dag Ellingsen, on the living conditions of Norwegian war children, has been translated into English

e are happy to share that a report published in 2004 by Dag Ellingsen, on the living conditions of Norwegian war children, has been translated from it’s orginal Norwegian, now into English with funding from the The Children Born of War Project 🙌 It’s a unique study that started with a sample of children registered in handwritten German war archives (located at the Arkivverket | The National Archives of Norway). The study team was able trace the national identity numbers of a significant proportion of these children and were thus able to retrieve data about their living conditions from modern registers. The data suggests that social development patterns are influenced by stigmatising processes but also by a considerable potential for more ‘restorative’ life courses.
