Last week, the Children Born of War Project shared research findings with field practitioners and worked on safeguarding historical archives.

On Tuesday, 23 September, our chairwoman, Ingvill Constanze Ødegaard, gave a lecture for staff at Save the Children Norway, presenting her research and summarising key issues affecting children born of war in historical and contemporary conflicts, as well as the advocacy and policy work of the CBOW Project.
We are grateful to Redd Barna and Nora Ingdal, International Programs Director, and her team for putting this issue on the agenda – and to Secretary General of Save the Children Norway Henriette Killi Westhrin for sharing her valuable personal perspectives as part of the event.
On the very same day, Ingvill and Torunn collected the archive of the Norwegian War Child Association ‘Krigsbarnforbundet Lebensborn’, which the foundation has been entrusted with safeguarding.
In collaboration with the University Library in Oslo (Universitetsbiblioteket) we will work to preserve this material as an important part of history – to honor those affected and to provide a valuable resource for future research and understanding.
We look forward to further collaboration with both Save the Children Norway and the University Library in Oslo.
