The CBOW Project warmly congratulates board member Lina Stotz on successfully defending her PhD at the Universitetet i Oslo (UiO) on Friday, 25 September 2026.
Her dissertation, “Children Born of War and Narratives of (Non-)Recognition in International Criminal Law and Beyond,” offers an excellent analysis of the socio-legal issues affecting children born of war. The discussions between the candidate and her distinguished opponents, Luke Moffett and Sanna Mustasaari, were both insightful and engaging.
The dissertation was completed as part of the EuroWarchild project, led by Inger Skjelsbæk. Lina was supervised by Peter Scharff Smith, Kjersti Lohne, and chairwoman of the CBOW Project and EuroWarchild member Ingvill Constanze Ødegaard.
